“The Cowboy Capital of the World”! This small town has been able to keep the west alive. The title “Cowboy Capital of the World” was earned when it became a staging area for the last great cattle drives of the late 1800s. In front of the Court House lawn you can find a bronze monument honoring the many National Rodeo Champions who call Bandera home. A lot of the buildings around the downtown area were built around the 1850s. Stroll through downtown Bandera and get a feel of the old west. Shop around in antique stores and western stores for saddles, hats and boots. There is also several restaurants and cafes to choose from along Main St. While visiting you’ll see people riding horses in town. Bandera Texas offers a great place to try horseback riding in a beautiful Texas hill country backdrop. Check here for information on horseback riding in Bandera Texas. You can also visit the Frontier Times Museum. Click here for more information on Bandera Texas attractions, hotels, restaurants, and events.
