River Walk Attractions

Welcome to San Antonio River Walk a public park open all year long! In the center of downtown San Antonio is the famous River Walk built around the San Antonio River. The San Antonio River Walk is 5 miles long and offers much to see and do along the way. The River Walk is located one level down from street level and is surrounded by lush greenery and romantic bridges.

On the River Walk near the San Antonio Art Museum see unique artwork, the grotto, and Fish art along the river. In the center of the Riverwalk near the Alamo and River Center Mall find restaurants, bars/clubs, and hotels to visit.

During the year the River Walk is the center of many events. The top events at the River Walk include river boat parades. Fiesta River Parade and Christmas River Parade are the popular River Walk parades.

The San Antonio River is a big part of San Antonio's history. The area around the river has been the home to Indians, Spaniards, and Canary Islanders. Missions were established in the 1700s to run along the San Antonio River, including the famous Alamo. In the early 1800s Mexicans and Americans also called the San Antonio River home. San Antonio Art Museum

See artifacts from Egypt, the Near East, Greece, Rome, China, Japan, Oceania, Europe, America, and Latin America! A collection that covers 5,000 years of civilizations. Traveling on riverwalk to attractions by river boat rides

Traveling on the River Walk is more fun on a river boat ride! Riverboat rides include River tours and River taxis. The San Antonio Riverwalk is 4 miles long. If you want to cover the entire river walk a nice breezy ride on a Riverboat taxi is recommended. Also available are River boat Tours to give you more of a history of the San Antonio River and information on the River Walk. You can purchase tickets online at Riverboat Rides tickets or in person at the following locations... - Historia (Under Market St. Bridge & Alamo St.) - Clearwater Rivercenter Mall - (Commerce & Bowie St.) - Aztec Theater (River Level Aztec Theater - Crockett & St. Marys St.).
